Moonroof II
This zine is part of a series of booklets featuring collections of pictures from Brendan Page’s personal library of photos.
In these publications he plays with the idea of what counts as photography, including drawings, 3D models, and digital screenshots. They pay with the ways we try and capture time, and how much of the photographer can be seen in the photos they take.
This volume specifically explores the reproduction of photographs using white ink on black paper. The images chosen consist of pictures that emphasize their light sources, night photography, and abstracted subjects. The darkness of the paper fills in gaps between dots of white ink and gives the impression of expansive shadow.
These books are named after the moonroof, a glass panel in the roof of a car that reveals the sky above. The moonroof is a unique portal through which you can see the world, or the world can see you.
